Gamification in Construction
In Greater Manchester construction is a growth sector with significant demands for skills at all levels. Our gamification in construction project is build on LTE Group’s successful UfI Seed Fund project. This project looked to improve the quality of the delivery of theory in onsite construction courses for both adults and young people and we took a person centred design approach to develop an online application that works for both students and teachers.

This next development phase is looking at further alignment with T level and other construction programmes and development of flexible editable resources that teachers can adapt to meet the specific needs of their students. This project is particularly relevant to teachers with students who currently find the knowledge based aspects of their course challenging, including those where English language skills are a barrier to their success.
Gamification, Noun
“The application of typical elements of game playing (e.g. point scoring, competition with others, rules of play) to other areas of activity, in this case education for construction students.”
