Digital applications in construction to support project co-ordination

Audience:

The target audience for this course is for people who want to learn how BIM can be utilised throughout a construction lifecycle of a project.  

It will touch on digital tools such as Revit and Drone technologies, with a focus on the process and benefits of integrating BIM in a project lifecycle and how information can be managed throughout.

Course Description:

This course is designed to look at how BIM can be utilised throughout a project lifecycle to manage data and information. 

 This course will look at specific examples such as reviewing and replacing rooftop plant/equipment.  We will look at digital skills that can be explored in this specific task which will include; 

 Scanning utilising different technologies (including drones) 

  • 3D modelling 
  • 2D drawings  
  • Data handling  
  • Develop knowledge and skills to support the effective use of drone flight and technologies.
  • Understand and use BIM software for designers

Scanning/Drones can provide information that may inform 3D modeling & 2D drawings, a form of information managed in a BIM process that may be used in an MMC project. 

Prerequisites:

Some experience using Revit or similar software (Can be referred to LinkedIn learning for introductory training before joining the course)
