Digital Inclusion Thematic Group Meeting

The thematic group for Inclusion will consider key aspects of digital inclusion. The aims of the group are to ensure benefits of digital technologies are available to all students and to support students to develop the digital and independent learning skills they need to work safely and effectively online.

What is the purpose of this working group?

This working group aims to encourage the sharing of plans, approaches and practices between organisations in the digital blended CCF project. It will be a space for reflecting on progress with digital/blended inclusion and celebrating successes as well as working through issues and challenges in a supportive environment. We will provide an additional online forum for discussion beyond the meetings and create an online space for sharing draft resources between yourselves. The meetings will encourage further collaborative practice and support planning of actions to take back into your context.

Who should attend this working group?

This working group will be of interest and relevance to those who lead or coordinate strategy and development related to digital  inclusion. The working group meetings will focus on strategy, planning and embedding high quality digital/blended approaches in sustainable ways through systems, processes, roles and resources.

Insights from the sector: Harriett Jackson, Project & Policy Support Officer for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority will present on GM Digital Inclusion Priorities.

We will then consider our own role as FE colleges in enabling digital inclusion. We will consider current challenges for our students, potential opportunities and our own strategic approaches to make learning accessible, inclusive and to design of learning that develops the digital confidence of students for learning, work and life.
